In March, Google announced updates to Dataflow Prime, improving auto-scaling and adaptive resource allocation, helping optimise costs for unpredictable workloads. April saw the launch of FlexRS for Streaming, allowing users to reduce costs by trading off slight increases in latency, a move particularly valuable for user activity tracking and Iot pipelines. Additionally, Dataflow expanded its integrations with Vertex AI and BigQuery, releasing new templates to streamline real-time machine learning and feature engineering workflows. These updates enable faster deployment of real-time recommendation systems without extensive custom development. To improve the developer experience, Google unveiled Dataflow Notebooks, offering an interactive, cloud-native way to build and test streaming pipelines.
