Google Looker announced several major updates in March and April 2025, enhancing flexibility, real-time capabilities, and embedded analytics. New dynamic fields now allow users to create custom metrics and dimensions directly within dashboards without modifying LookML. Looker also introduced parameterised URLs, enabling dashboards to accept filter values dynamically from external links — a major improvement for embedded analytics and marketing use cases. Tighter integrations with BigQuery and Vertex AI were launched, making it easier to visualise real-time machine learning predictions within Looker dashboards. Looker’s embedded analytics features were expanded with improved mobile responsiveness, white-labeling options, and granular access controls. Additionally, Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) added new real-time connectors and advanced visualisations such as funnel and Sankey charts. These updates show Looker’s strong focus on streamlining data experiences for both internal teams and external customers.
